After quite a successful walk in May, there was lots of interest for another one. This time we'll walk in an area south of Haslemere (border between Surrey and Sussex). It's designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

After quite a successful walk in May, there was lots of interest for another one. This time we'll walk in an area south of Haslemere (border between Surrey and Sussex). It's designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We will take the 09.53 train from London Waterloo to Haslemere. Please note that getting a ticket is your responsibility. A day return ticket would cost £12.50.

The morning part of the walk will take just over 2 hours. There would be a walk through some great country and we would go to the only pub, called Noah's Ark, in the village of Lurgashall. Lurgashall is a kind of picture postcard English country village.

After lunch we'll have another, shorter walk and should take around 1 hour and 5 minutes. Most of the afternoon walk will be through a large wood. At the end of this walk is a pub, called Duke of Cumberland, which is completely delightful.

When:  Saturday, 14th August 2004
Where to: Haslemere
Where from: Waterloo, at 9.30am. We'll meet by the Eurostar terminal, on the balcony.
Lunch: Noah's Ark in Lurgashall
