We take great pleasure in announcing that we have arranged a screening of the English language documentary ‘Searching for a Storm’ on 30 September at 7PM. It will be the UK premiere.

The documentary, by American director Jack Baric, regards the indictment of Croatian General Ante Gotovina by the ICTY and considers whether he is a scapegoat for failed UN policies during the war in former Yugoslavia. Gotovina was indicted for Operation Storm, which liberated large swathes of Croatian territory and brought the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina to an end.

From the film’s website: “In the documentary's search for the truth about what happened before, during, and after Operation Storm, the filmmakers interviewed people with a wide variety of opinions about the war and Gotovina's case… These interviews took the crew on a whirlwind tour of Europe to Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Paris, London and The Hague and included diplomats, human rights activists, journalists, clergy, soldiers, prosecution and defence staff, and lay Croats, Serbs and Bosnians, including Croatian actor Goran Visnjic.”

The film was premiered at the prestigious Zagreb Dox festival last year. Indeed, such was the interest that a second screening was swiftly arranged. It was screened on Croatian national television in August. More information on the film at: http://www.searchingforastorm.com/

After the screening there will be a discussion about the issues raised.
