On Thursday, 5th May there will be the opening of a photo exhibition entitled 'Trapped', by three young artists - a CSYPN member Jelena Blagovic and her colleagues Frederic Huska and Erika Hayashi. It would be great if you could join us and support Jelena.  

Intriguing and challenging new work from three young innovative photographers aims to explore and reflect their own complex experiences and responses to depression, sadness, alienation, and desire. This body of work, although diverse in subject matter, shares a similar style and combines rhetorical elements within a narrative.  

Jelena Blagovic portrays depression as a psychiatric disorder. The composition and symmetrical presentation of her images suggest an endless loop representing the depressed person’s state of mind. The artist plays with rich sepia tones, ironically colouring depression with compelling warmth – addressing the theme with compassion.
