Committee

This group of dedicated volunteers spend their spare (and not so spare) time in order to promote Croatia and organise events for CSYPN members. Of course, it is a privilege to be a part of the Committee and lots of time and effort is spent by each one of the Committee members.

We meet at least once a month to discuss all of our small and big projects, assign relevant tasks and pray that our effort doesn't go to waste.

Committee Members

Brian Gallagher

Brian

Brian just cannot life without CSYPN. He used to be on the Committee, thought that he needed a break - and that failed miserably. Now, he's again spreading his wisdom in the Committee.

His job/hobby/life is related to politics and writing about it - and he's very, very good in that. Brian is also the editor of the Croatia Business Report.

Emma Markovic

Emma

The first thing Emma is going to say about her is "I LOVE Hajduk and Torcida" - everything else is less relevant. Dinamo fans should try to avoid conversation about football and talk about British weather instead. Unless, of course, they got fed up with life. Beside that, Emma likes to party, drink a bit and have a great time. However, even if intoxicated, she'll finish her tasks - probably better and faster.

She's the youngest in the Committee and teaches us about all the things young people like. Also every efficient and hard-working, juggling a few things at once (including her studies), she's a great addition to the Committee.

Paul Ritchie

Paul

Born down under, Paul has a bit relaxed attitude and it's fun to be around. He's a teacher, which is quite worrying for the British educational system. We're kidding, of course. Yeah, sure.

Paul is a keen organiser and very pro-active, with loads of ideas and initiatives. We're blessed with his involvement.

Adrian Johnson

Adrian

The toughest question you can ask Adrian is where is he from. He can't tell you. But he can say that he is that rarest of combinations, half-British, half-Croat (and if you really want to know, his right half is the Croatian one).

Adrian earns his bread as an editor for an academic foreign affairs journal, so don't be offended if he corrects your grammar halfway through a sentence: he's just not switched off from work yet. And in any case, you can laugh at his terrible Croatian language skills.

Honorary Positions

Marko Krznaric

Marko
The President

Marko has been part of CSYPN from day one. It seemed that he'd been president forever when he stepped down in 2009. So the other Committee members loved him so much they made him an honorary member for life.

He comes from Vinkovci, where he lived most of his life. Finished maths in Zagreb, and got his MSc and PhD in London. He's a doctor for computers not homo sapiens, so don't rely on him if you get ill. The picture is from his wedding (he's still not fully aware of how lucky he is) and he barely resembles it as since that day Marko put a few (read >10) kilograms. Of course, Marko'll say that he's perfectly fit.
